Information/Write-up
Following Imaginary Cities' 2011 album Temporary Resident, the band had a successful run that included a Polaris Music Prize nomination, tours with the Pixies, and a West Coast Music Awards win. Now, the Winnipeg pop-rock band are back with their sophomore LP, Fall of Romance, due out May 28 through Hidden Pony Records/Votiv Music.
These 12 tracks were recorded at Winnipeg's Private Ear Studio and Vancouver's Menagerie Studio. Additional sessions took place at the band's practice space, an apartment in Germany, and a campground in Ontario. It was co-produced by the band's own Rusty Matyas and Vancouver studio whiz Howard Redekopp (Tegan & Sara, Mother Mother, Said the Whale).
Matyas said in a statement, "This was definitely the most fun I've ever personally had recording an album. We'd spend all day experimenting with sounds and instruments of all kinds. No limits, no rules, just fun."
