Origin: Sooke, British Columbia, 🇨🇦
Biography:

Red Tide were from Sooke, British Columbia and evolved out of a number of bands from that scene which include Youth Plague, Suburban Menace, and Censored Chaos. The band was described as the Hummer of Punk Rock in that it was utilitarian, stripped down, hard and fast inspired by the jack-hammer of life which pounded away in our heads as they drank lots of beer and took acid/mushrooms on as many weekends as we could find them. The band became known for the song "Incubator Slide" that appeared on the "Welcome to 1984" comp that MRR compiled. Toxic Shock Records from the States released this ep as it's fourth release in 1984. Red Tide featured Ken Jensen who would go on to play in DOA and die in a house fire. Prior to this they had recorded a couple of tapes and an unreleased LP. They got to play with the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Pearl Jam, Really Red, Dead Kennedys, the Dayglos, and NoMeansNo.
