Rain City Blues

Vancouver has always been a city steeped in the blues — and maybe it’s no coincidence. With its long gray winters, endless rain, and a history of gritty bars and clubs from Gastown to Granville Street, the city gave rise to a scene where the blues thrived. From touring legends stopping in at the Yale to homegrown heroes shaping their own sound at The Town Pump and The Commodore, Vancouver became a hotbed for soulful guitar licks, wailing harmonicas, and the Hammond B3’s deep growl. Rain City Blues celebrates that legacy, capturing the raw spirit of musicians who turned damp streets and stormy skies into something timeless: the sound of Westcoast Blues.
