Information/Write-up

a souvenir single written by Ben Kerr and recorded by Diane Leigh in support of the three-leave flag design in 1964, while Canada was contemplating a new flag from the existing traditional Red Ensign. The three flag emblem represented english, french and 'New Canadians', while ignoring other contributing nationalaties to the Canadian identity (including indigenous peoples). The single maple leaf represented pluralism of all Canadians - thus the single maple leaf design was rightly chosen.
