Information/Write-up
Canadian fusion guitarist, songwriter and vocalist – started playing guitar at age 12 and was playing full time by age 18. Influences were bands such as the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Doors, Kinks and James Brown. The Toronto R&B Sound in the 60’s was also a major factor in Lou’s musical development. The later 60’s saw a shift to more of a rock and blues interest – Jeff Beck, Led Zeppelin, Frank Zappa, Jimi Hendrix, Mike Bloomfield and Johnny Winter with Robben Ford as a current influence. Lou’s parents and relatives were from Nova Scotia and listened to old country music such as Hank Snow, Hank Williams SR and Johnny Cash. All of these influences contributed to Lou’s vast skill as a musician. He has played many styles of music to survive as a musician – rock, blues, R&B, country and even disco. The main focus now (after many years of touring Canada) is writing, recording and producing his original music. Lou has seven CD’s to his credit since 2005 with CD 8 currently in the studio.
Many complements have been received over the years on the ballads from our CD’s. I started to write quite a few more during 2010 and 2011 so decided to release this CD simply titled “Ballads.” Included are 4 of our previously released ballads plus 6 newly written tunes. Everything is original and I have also included the lyrics for all songs. This CD is quite a different offering from our previous releases!
