The BC Trees have taken a cheese grater to multiple music genres and melted it down into one tasty mix that can go with anything. The BC Trees are Matt Houghland aka Glympse (Vocals), Eddie Houghland (Bass), Ted Campbell (Guitar), Marek (Drums) and Madhu (Backup Vocals). One could describe their music as hippie-hip-hop with their topics on the various trees species, gardening, eating veggies and taking stabs at Monsanto. Matt’s vocals are clear, precise and easy to understand so you can bet you will be rapping along once you get to know the words. One of the main musical focal points on this album is the guitar work from Ted Campbell. The mans guitar chord progressions are intoxicating and give this album a whole other dimension of dope. The 4 tracks below are some of my favorite tracks off the album. If you are not convinced yet take a listen to Revolution and tell me you are not amped!! Imperfect Paradise is the BC Trees debut album. It was recorded at AI studios in Vancouver that was engineered by me during my time in audio school. Additional thanks goes out to Warren Larkam for his assistant engineering duties. The BC Trees and I would also like to thank Mike Foster from Blackfish Sound for mixing, photos, advice and his countless hours working on this album. Mike was also responsible for engineering Revolution, Walking Through The Door and Get Inside.
