Information/Write-up
Dougal Trineer, Artist & Repertoire Director or Rodeo Records Limited and one of the all-time greats in country music in Canada, was born in Calumet, Quebec, on January 19, 1940.
He comes from a very musical family and is one of five brothers, all of whom are fine musicians in their own right.
Dougal's mother, Hannah, must be given outstanding credit for the basic instructions of this fine musical family, since she herself was an accomplished pianist and organist and plays a mighty fine old time fiddle.
In his early years of guitar pickin', Dougal was greatly influenced by Django Rheindhart and Chet Atkins and from his beginning has developed a fine original styling of his own.
An accomplished guitarist also plays bass, banjo, steel, piano, and fiddle and is one of Canada's most promising composers of music.
Prior to signing exclusively with Rodeo Records, Dougal has released 7 long play albums on the Point label, a Decca subsidiary. This is Dougal's first sacred album and will be a treasured possession of his many fans.
