Information/Write-up

Bob Ruzicka was a singer, songwriter, and children's dentist from northern Alberta, who was familiar in the early 1970's not only for his records but for his appearances on Peter Gzowski's CBC radio show 'This Country In The Morning'. He had most recently appeared on a summer television series, 'Homemade Jam', before he graduated to his own show, 'Ruzicka', which produced in Edmonton. The show lasted from January to April 1972.

Over the past half dozen years, Bob Ruzicka has recorded six albums of original material, written and performed music for dozens of radio and television documentaries, including many on Canada's North. Regular T.V. performances include major variety shows such as Tyson, Prophet, Tommy Hunter, Tommy Banks, ACTRA Awards, and Peter Gzowski. Ruzicka's songs have been recorded by over twenty-five artists; notably Valdy, George Hamilton IV, Judy Collins, and Anne Murray.

Lasy year Ruzicka hosted his own National T.V. series In which he featured songwriters and performers from all over Canada. He has performed at both the Winnipeg and Faro folk festivals.
