Information/Write-up

Self-produced debut CD from dynamic Victoria B.C. alternative folk-rock band Northern Junk. The group was only commercially available on the rare Rocktoria IV compilation, as their full length CD was not released commercially. Evidently consisting entirely of Canadians from Icelandic descent, brothers Kris and Lindy Vopnfjord continue to be very successful, now in a more Folk-Indie direction. Bassist Tyson Maiko also went onto success, playing in Vancouver punk rock group Gob. The cover shows something of a historical land-mark for Victoria, as it has the group standing in front (and behind) of the actual Northern Junk Co. building, which has been empty for over 50 years.

Kris Vopnfjord: vocals, electric guitar
Llindy Vopnfjord: vocals
Robin Sutmoller: violin, mandolin
Tyson Maiko: bass
Justus Edmonson: drums

Guest musicians:
Caroline Neapole: vocals
Shirley Rainone: accordion
