Information/Write-up
Ray McAuley was a star from the moment he stepped out on stage. Few people have had the dynamic, electric rapport that he had with his audience.
I recall Ray performing one night in one of your so-called country one-stops. I casually observed the people in the audience. They savored each word of each song, completely enraptured by Ray, who, throughout his short life, just wanted to sing.
The selections on this album are a tribute to the man, Ray McAuley. There are special songs which bring back memories past and wistful hints of future songs that were not to be.
The shock suffered by family and friends at his death, in April, 1978 is still etched in their minds. Close friends of Ray McAuley have spent this last year searching out old tapes and this tribute album was finally completed.
My own thoughts are echoed in a song: "mem'ries, light the corners of my mind, misty water color mem'ries, of the way we were.:
Goodbye old friend.
