Information/Write-up

Back in 1980 a friend of mine was a big Rush fan and bought this album because they played Battlescar on our local rock station. After a couple listens we discovered that Battlescar wasn't even one of the better songs on this record although a great tune. A year earlier I'd seen Max open for Foghat and The Outlaws. At the time I hadn't heard their music but they were fantastic and blew the other bands off the stage. This album, Max's last had the band moving in a different and heavier guitar based direction. Kim Mitchell really smokes on this record and the way they blend guitars and keys is great. The lyrics are very quirky and cool. This just doesn't sound like any other band out there. As a guitarist and bandleader at the time, this album was a huge influence on me.
