Information/Write-up

Played Hammond Organ on this recording, both sides 1967. Song was actually recorded at RCA in Toronto. The Blue Eyed Soul Band was from Brantford Ontario and was the 3rd version of a Band by this name. The other 2 former Bands did not record and this 3rd version had none of the original members. Record had lots of Airplay at CKPC 1380 Brantford Ontario, some CKOC 1150 Hamilton and unknown Detroit Stations that were playing the more Soulful flip side "I Still Love You". All players on this Record ranged from 15 to 19 years old and played extensively in Southern Ontario, including The Hawks Nest in Toronto. Both sides were arranged and composed by the Youngest Member of the Band, 15, Bruce Wilson of Brantford Ontario.

Side one was upbeat R&B because we wanted airplay on Commercial radio and that worked out. It was before Can Con.

Side two was Blues/Soul which was really what you heard in our live sets but figured it wouldn’t get air play. Actually that was not the case in Detroit radio for they played I Still Love You. Our lead singer had a very black sounding voice.

Jaye Simms: lead vocals
Bruce Wilson: lead guitar
Ted Kowal: bass
Rick Wheelton: drums
Bruce Hall: organ
2nd Drummer - Ken Arsenault: 2nd Drummer (Twin Drummers for Live Shows)

Cheers,
Bruce Hall
Brantford
