Information/Write-up

This was written by myself, Gary Alles & Jack Bush (my brother). We were at lunch laughing about what had happened in parliament and thought it would be hilarious to write a song "Do the Fuddle Duddle". We wrote it, got it recorded and released within two weeks. Doug Riley played on it and on the flip side was his instrumental. The song charted March 6, 1971 on the RPM Top Singles Chart and went to #82 on March 27. RPM also placed it at #86 on the Top 100 year-end chart.

Do The Fuddle Duddle: is a comic retro-60's-Beat take on a well publicized Canadian political House Of Commons incident
Funky Fuddle Duddle: is a funky near-instrumental jam

On February 16, 1971, Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau is said to have mouthed the words "fuck off" to an opposition party member in the House of Commons. When the media questioned him on the incident he said that the mouthed words were "fuddle duddle". Soon the words became part of the Canadian cultural vernacular.

The record was released within two weeks and charted March 6, 1971 on the (Canadian) RPM Top Singles Chart and went to #82 on March 27. RPM also placed it at #86 on the Top 100 year-end chart.

Do the fuddle duddle in the House of Commons
Do the fuddle duddle on the subway train
Do the fuddle duddle with your favorite Tory
Do the fuddle duddle with me

Fuddle duddle
Well, I would say that...

Do the fuddle duddle in the good old White House
Do the fuddle duddle in Washington(?) Square
Do the fuddle duddle in Buckingham Palace
Do the fuddle duddle today!

Buckingham palace, yes...

Anyone who fuddle duddles, is a friend.
Let me make one thing perfectly clear.
Anyone who fuddle duddles is a friend of mine.

Ohh, I just wanna say, everybody fuddle duddles sometime!

Fuddle duddle
Fuddle-duddle!
Making me sick to my stomach!

Do the fuddle duddle on the morning after
Do the fuddle duddle when you take your tea
Do the fuddle duddle in the legislature
Do the fuddle duddle with me!

Fuddle duddle, is that a new dance?

Will you fuddle duddle if I call you Thursday?
Can you fuddle duddle on the TV screen?
Say you fuddle duddle on the [inaudible]
Do ya fuddle duddle today!

Fuddle duddle, is that anything like [inaudible] Jack?
Holly-golly? Sock it to me baby?

Do the fuddle duddle in the House of Commons
Do the fuddle duddle on the subway train
Do the fuddle duddle in the good old White House
We all fuddle duddle, fuddle duddle the same!

Come on out there,
Come on let's hear it for these Canadians!
Aww, let's hear it for 'em out there,
Guys out here from Ottawa!

Fiddle daddles
Duddles
House of Commons, come on!
