Information/Write-up

Back in the seventies, rock was rock and punk was punk. There was no middle ground. Then in 1976, a band named "HOT HOUSE" was formed in London, Ontario. Strongly influenced by AC/DC. Judas Priest, & The Ramones, and armed with some rockin' originals, "HOT HOUSE" provided a unique repertoire at that time, along with a theatrical stage show. In order to get more bookings, we decided to release an indie LP and include it in our promo kit. Snubbed by the major radio stations and local booking agents, we wondered what else we could do. Then we discovered the world of College and University radio stations, and that launched us on an amazing adventure which included touring Canada, setting some bar-sales records, and living the Rock and Roll Dream to the full extreme.

Now, here we are in 2024. The "Burn It Down" Lp by "HOT HOUSE" was released 46 years ago, and is still receiving radio airplay! A very special Thank-you goes out to UWO's CHRW and other stations who are keeping the dream alive! A special Thank-You also goes out to Fanshawe's radio station, which was known as 6xfm back then, and was the best Rock Radio Station in Southwestern Ontario and the first to put "HOT HOUSE" on the airwaves. Sadly, our bassist and my good friend Richard (Dick Demo) Demmery and our soundman have both passed away. Shawn now lives north of Toronto and is still quite active in the music business. Our lead singer Frank moved to the USA, but music lives on in his family. Joe from the multi-platinum selling band 'Loud Luxury' is Frank's nephew. Steve (Muon Bluze) has had several #1 hits on the Canadian Blues Charts. I created and operate the facebook pages/groups "London Ontario Music Scene", "London Music Videos", and "London Canada Music Pics". Our "Burn It Down" LP is in the London Music Hall of Fame.
Cheers, Bob

Bob Klein: drummer, founding member, band leader.
Richard "Dick Demmo" Demmery (RIP): original bass player, backing vocals, on stage theatrics, a great friend.
Steve Sawchuk: original guitarist, composer and creative force. Several of our original songs grew from the foundation of Steve's creativity. Although he left the band before we went into the studio to record the "Burn It Down" LP, it was a huge error that his name was left out of the credits. (Sorry Steve.) I'm happy to say that we're still friends and he attended "Bob's Birthday Bash" in 2017.
Frank Michienzi: original lead vocalist and dynamic stage persona. A simply amazing vocal range!
Shawn O'Connor: guitarist & composer. Shawn was Steve's replacement. It was Shawn's influence to speed up the originals and give them a bit more of an edge.
Ron Taylor: guitarist extraordinaire! Ron joined us after Shawn's departure, and was with us in Southwestern Ontario and the first Western Canada tour.
Mark McDonald: guitarist and strong backing vocals. Mark joined us after Ron and Cathy moved back to Ontario. I don't know anyone who learned our repertoire faster than Mark did.
Steve "Gino" Jones: bass player and vocals. Gino joined us after Dick Demmery's departure. He then took over as lead vocalist after Frank's departure.
Rick Whiteside: guitarist and backing vocals. Rick was Mark's replacement. Another gifted guitarist and showman.
