Information/Write-up

SPACE ALIEN WRITES INTRO
This is the debut album by Hamilton's Ambassadors of Tackiness to the World, the Dik Van Dykes. They took the underground music scene by surprise in 1986 with their detestable blend of originality and polyester, and this vinyl frisbee is just another attempt by the band to spread their warped sense of reality into every corner of Canada, and other places too. Combining the primitive pounding of Stu Smith (no kick pedal) with the sleepy bass of Frank Viola, 3 grinding strings courtesy of Steve Hoy, and the painfully harmonious bubble-rap of the internationally renowned PopTarts, Renee and Sarah, the Van Dykes create the ultimate tacky-garage-punk environment for slightly off-key lead guitarist and vocalist Dik’s satirical assault on life in general.

Mike "Dik" Johnson: vocals, lead guitar
Sarah Hodgson: vocals
Steve Hoy: fuzz guitar
Blurt Van Dyke: bass, backing vocals
Stu Smith: drums
Frank Viola: backing vocals
Renee Wetselaar: backing vocals
