Jackie Mittoo - The Keyboard King

Jackie Mittoo was a visionary keyboardist, composer, and arranger whose fingerprints are all over the birth and evolution of ska, rocksteady, and reggae. As musical director at Jamaica’s legendary Studio One by age 15, he helped define the island’s sound throughout the 1960s. After relocating to Toronto in the late ’60s, he brought that same spirit to Canada, recording classics like Wishbone and Reggae Magic and mentoring a new wave of reggae talent.
