Biography:

I am a Canadian multi-instrumentalist composer, bass player, sound engineer and recording artist. My musical repertoire spans a diverse range of music. It combines elements of rock, orchestral, electronic synthesis and sound design to create imaginative and diverse music that blend together to enhance drama and develop distinctive and immersive music. By exploring textural devices to construct evocative and colourful musical compositions; I have developed a hybrid style that share some of the same esthetics and attention to a visual narrative that some of the new classical and electronic composers of today use.

Originally from Toronto, Scott was immersed in the 80s post punk /new romantic scene. In 1983 he produced and released a solo album called Boats In Rivers, which garnered extensive radio and video play. It also received a CASBY nomination for vocalist of the year. Two years later he released Role Boys which also became a radio and dance-floor hit , also garnering a U-Know award nomination for single of the year. He has since released six solo albums and four collaborative albums with guitarist David Barrett and The David Barrett Trio, where Scott provided full orchestral arrangements for two albums released in 2020 and 2021. Both produced by Terry Brown. Currently they are working on a third album as just a trio where Scott is playing a Rickenbacker and a fretless jazz bass. Along with the best drummer in Canada- Paul DeLong on drums, and Terry Brown (Rush, Max Webster, Blue Rodeo) producing.

Theatre credits include working as sound designer -Man for all Seasons (1998), The Miracle Worker (1998), The Alchemist (1999) and, uniquely, two productions of the Tempest (1999 & 2005).A sound engineer for hundreds of shows, and a FOH mixer for many musicals at The Stratford Festival ,where he has been head of sound for 20 years. Overseeing all the sound production elements involved in large scale dramatic, Shakespearean and orchestral theatre performances. Including design and concept execution with musical directors, theatre directors and sound designers.

I have recently vacated my post as Head of Sound at the Stratford Festival ,to allow for more time to collaborate on new and interesting projects, with new and exciting people.

Toronto born musician and composer, has been involved in music and production for 30 years. In the early 80s, he was strongly involved in the Toronto electronic music scene. Specifically the art rock and experimental music that was breaking ground at that time with artists like Brian Eno ,Kraftwerk and Japan. Scott played in many bands, but eventually felt a need to release solo material that focused on the more experimental and ambient. Deciding to focus on fretless bass as a featured instrument, he released a solo album called "Boats In Rivers", which garnered extensive radio play and video play for the single. Two years later he released "Role Boys". Both singles were nominated for U-know awards and Casby awards in Canada in 1983 and 1986. In 2005 ,he and long time friend and guitarist David Barrett,(David Barrett trio) released an album of instrumentals entitled "Amitahba". In 2009 they followed it up with an album called "Radium Lustre". In 2012 Scott released " My Fathers' Paintings"An album of 8 original songs that Scott wrote and performed all the vocals and instruments.

In 2015, Scott released another project called "Static IP". Eight instrumental electronic tracks that are strongly grounded in the style of old school Euro/Germanic electronica.
