Biography:

Luc Cousineau ( 1944 - 2017 ) is a Quebec singer-songwriter who became best known for his song Vivre en amour in the 1970s .

Born in Sherbrooke on September 19 , 1944, he is the brother of musicians Jean Cousineau and François Cousineau . It was in his hometown that he first studied the cello . Later, he enrolled at the Vincent-d'Indy music school in Montreal where he learned the saxophone and the double bass.

In 1965 , he formed the duo Les Alexandrins with his wife Lise Vachon, which became Luc et Lise in 1970 then Cousineau in 1972 . He creates a mixture of classical music and chansonnier jazz. The Alexandrians achieved some success with songs like Chany , Chante, chansonnier, chante , John Kennedy , Friends , Angela mon amour, A testament of love and October in May . The group disbanded in 1973 when Luc and Lise Vachon each embarked on an individual career.

In 1975 Luke formed his own production company, Airedale . The following year, he released two albums, Luc Cousineau then Schlack . In the first is his greatest career success, Vivre en amour , which in 2015 will be inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame . Meanwhile, he does not hesitate to play for artists like Stéphane Venne , Isabelle Pierre and Renée Claude.

An album, also titled Luc Cousineau, was released in 1979 . In 1980, the album Comme tout l'monde was released , co-written with Pierre Létourneau , which became an immediate success. During the 1990s, Luc Cousineau abandoned the field of song and began composing music for films, television series and advertisements. At RDI , he made the music for Vocation journalist and Caractères: Robert Gravel . Finally, at the Canal Vie , he composed the themes of Health in the spotlight and Victory.

In the early 2000s , he returned to singing and, in 2001 , he released the album J'laisse aller , followed a year later by Until your world . Living in love came back into fashion and became the subject of a milk advertisement . At that time, the song reached 25,000 radio plays.

For a few years, Luc Cousineau worked on private type objectives. He returned again to the field of song in the early 2010s and, the February 11 , 2014, he releases the album The guy there . Meanwhile, in 2013 , doctors diagnosed him with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis , the symptoms of which worsened over the following years.
