Biography:
Maya Karr has the fresh and mysterious tones of her native month of May. Her unique voice and style accommodate any song with ease. Training in music and writing coupled with stage exposure at an early age gave this self-taught young songbird an edge on her natural talents and abilities. Her passions for nature, people and the arts form a gentle blend of charm, wit and knowledge. Together with her old-country values and graces, we find her, to be a beauty with a delightfully pleasurable personality.
Her vibrance and imagination along with her innate fondness for all things new and different are demonstrated in the sharp melt of cultures and tradition that she and her collaborators have created, for you, in this album.
Though at some times dazzling and bright and at others, quiet and demure, her warm smile and soft features always combine to reveal a regal, reserved individual whose enthusiasm and sensitivity are known to captivate people of all ages.
‘Maya’ is the Hindi word meaning “ILLUSION”, and this sun-bronzed, deep-brown-eyed beauty is like a kaleidoscope, something totally new with each and every turn.
Maya is a rare gem, and we hope that the magic reflecting from her will continue to enchant you.
