Origin: Montréal, Québec, 🇨🇦
Biography:

Cinema Five was a Montreal-based rock band active in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The lineup featured Nigel Stern on vocals, Marcello Cordi on bass and vocals, John Kayser on keyboards and vocals, Radford Crasto on guitar, and Dany Bédard on drums.

In 1989, the band gained prominence by winning Montreal's "Rock Showdown '89," notably surpassing competitors like The Watchmen. This victory led to their contribution to a compilation CD associated with the event. That same year, they released a 45 RPM single titled "Love Will Find a Way," which showcased their polished rock sound.

In 1993, Cinema Five released their sole album, Bend the Sky, under the Cinacor label. The album was recorded at Studio Tempo and distributed by CBS Music Products Inc. It featured tracks that highlighted the band's musical synergy and evolving style.

Following the band's dissolution, members pursued various musical endeavors:

Nigel Stern: He co-founded the alternative rock band Likwid, active during the mid-1990s in Montreal.

Marcello Cordi: He also joined Likwid and remained active in the Montreal music scene, exploring new musical ventures.

Radford Crasto: In addition to playing with Likwid, Crasto collaborated with Lea Longo on her album Songs of a Siren, both as a producer and guitarist.

Dany Bédard: He contributed to the music project Coléoptère, which released a self-titled album in 2000.

John Kayser: Continued to stay involved in music production and programming.

In 1996, Likwid released a self-titled album under Sub-Zero Records. The album was recorded at Studio Le Divan Vert, produced by Marc Pérusse, and featured Nigel Stern on lead vocals, Radford Crasto on guitar and backing vocals, Marcello Cordi on bass, and André Chan on drums. The album showcased a heavier, grunge-influenced sound that marked a departure from the polished rock style of Cinema Five.

Cinema Five's brief yet impactful presence in the Montreal music scene is remembered through their recorded works and the subsequent contributions of their members to various musical projects.
