Origin: Montréal, Québec, 🇨🇦
Biography:

A look back to 1992 brings me to the unfortunately only album by the Canadian female fronted band DEVAY, whose shouter Marie-Claire Devay gave it its name. A certain Bryan Hughes (BEAU GESTE and THE BRYAN HUGHES GROUP) was also there at the time on guitars, keyboards and co-production; Alain Pernot, Carlo Simeone and Nick Martino on guitars; Mike Sharp and Maurice Soso Williams on bass; Rob Cornandoli on keyboards; Chris West (JONATHAN M and SHAYLE) and John Hughes Legend on drums.

This album is one of the best that female fronted bands had to offer, full of great melodies, loud guitars, subtle keyboards, driving drums and a singer with a tube that is roughly a mixture of Anne Wilson (HEART) and Janet Gardner (VIXEN). the right amount of dirt in the voice, made for this kind of music. The style is melodic rock from the end of the 80s, typically North American, as also celebrated by HEART, VIXEN, BAD ROMANCE, FEMME FATALE, FIGHTER and LITA FORD, everything is clean and flawless, the production still has room for improvement, but it's okay. Strong song ideas mixed with a lot of melody, the hot vocals and the rhythm section result in a recipe that every fan of this style of music and the comparable bands should enjoy. Song after song comes out of the speakers powerfully, immediately eats into your ear canals, and doesn't come out again so quickly. If you have the opportunity to listen to this album, take advantage of the opportunity, you would be missing out, as the good piece has become quite rare and is usually barely less than 50 Euros when it is found.

The introduction is “Rock And A Hard Place”, a hot, upbeat rocker that would also be suitable for the disco, followed by the next highlight “Heart Like A Gun” which goes in the same direction as its predecessor. With “Whatever It Takes” comes the absolute super hit, it couldn’t be better, what a great start to an album, three highlights. “Save Me” slows down the tempo, a mix of power ballad and AOR song. “Burning Alive” picks up the pace again at full speed and goes off again, made strong. “Let It Roll” could also come from HEART or VIXEN, “Paradise” the next super hit, the hottest rock from another universe. “Take Me Away” is a very successful ballad, “I Won’t Let Go” is the best melodic rock. “If I Gave You My Love” couldn’t be better, “Break Down The Walls” ends this album worthy.

Conclusion:
I have rarely heard or held such a perfect piece of music, many have/had/would have the potential, but not many achieve this perfection. Listen to it and get caught up in the DEVAY fever, the album comes along without any failures, slacks or average numbers, so there can only be one rating Full House, exactly a 10! Maybe there will be a sequel that is as strong as this CD. All that's left is to give you the tip: definitely check out the album, it's definitely worth it, even if it's extremely expensive but you should give it a try.
