Biography:
Eddie Zeeman is a veteran Canadian rock drummer and vocalist. Playing since the age of 5, and a pro from the age of 18 he has a discography of over twenty albums, many on which he was a full fledged songwriting band member. He has a well earned reputation as a hard hitting, rock solid player and a formidable vocalist...the consummate rock drummer who elevates every band he plays with to a higher level.
With one Juno award, three Juno nominations, and songs that have cracked the top 10 on several occasions, he has had a few brushes with commercial success over the years; but still values respect among his peers as his highest musical aspiration; always striving to be at the very top of his drumming abilities. He is also a trained choral singer with an exceptional vocal range.
On his 2013 solo release "Guilty Pleasures Vol.1" Eddie gives some of his personal favorite classic rock songs (Including The Who's "Baba O'Riley", and Zeppelin's "Kashmir" )a loving upgrade with the invaluable help of his good friend and renowned producer Mike Borkosky. (Allanah Myles, illScarlett, A Thousand Cures.)
Zeeman's drumming and vocal talents are brought to the forefront in these re-interpretations along with stunning contributions from guitarist/bassist Borkosky and keyboard wizards Nick Magnus (Steve Hackett) and Ray Coburn (Honeymoon Suite, Kim Mitchell) while maintaining a deep respect for the spirit of the original versions. Some moments from the originals are preserved beautifully even while these newer versions explore some new sonic and musical territory with an epic, sweeping sound scape. A "must hear" and an exciting ride for any fans of classic and progressive rock from the glory years.
March 2020 sees a full album release of all original songs. Titled "Through My Window....and other handcrafted songs" ; all instruments and vocals were played by the artist with no machines, auto-tune or computer software of any kind being utilized. The drumming is once again the dominant instrument, with the unexpected contributions of guitar, bass, keyboards and sometimes extensively layered vocals all painstakingly laid down by the artist one performance at a time. Featuring deeply personal songs, this is truly a labour of love. Recorded in a tiny eight track studio, and mastered with great precision by Derek Atherton, it truly captures the spirit of independent music.
