Websites:  No
Origin: London, Ontario
Biography:

"Music hath charms to soothe the savage beast." (Beethoven - 1806).

This album has been carefully and expressly designed to accomplish this purpose. Since pre-historic times, man has been stirred by the primitive rhythms of the drums. In earlier ages, these rhythms drove the savage tribesmen into the frenzied revelry from which the modern dance was to evolve. Of course, with the passing of time, these basically primitive rhythms and dances have been cultivated and refined, until today they have attained that high level of perfection that man himself has attained. And so, today we can readily see the forbistrative evolution from the hysterical, barbarous dancing rites of the past to the contemporary frug, ski and monkey. Therefore with this thought in mind, we are proud to make this record available to you, the modified, refined musical connoisseur of today.

The Tempests have played around at the university of Western Ontario for the past two years. During this period of time, they have also managed to perform at many campus functions, in addition to devoting as much of their spare time as can reasonably be expected to the books. One of them has recently acquired, through no fault of his own, the degree of M.E.Sc.; two have somehow managed to attain M.B.A. degrees; and three are, by rather devious and questionable means, attempting to graduate in the near future.

These are the sounds of the Tempests. Play them through your 12-speed, multi-directional, variable resistance, twin impedence, double bass reflex high fidelity system and enjoy the unbelievable results of 20 centuries of musical evolution.

Teenbeat obscurity with moody cover shot of the six band members' heads arranged to form a human pyramid! This is the Canadian Tempests, not the guys who did "Rockin' Rochester" or the soul group. The album is listed in both the Hans Pokora book and the Acid Archives. Super-rare record on the ultra-obscure Arkon label, which only had about half a dozen releases. This would probably qualify as a private press. Virtually unknown and unseen. The music is very enjoyable, with an edge similar to early Ronnie Hawkins. Don't let the respectable gents on the cover fool you. This is an original Canadian first and only pressing. Never released on CD. A great rare piece of Canadian music history.

Don Waite: vocals, guitar
Vic Gnaedinger: lead guitar
Mike Wooding: drums
Bob Martin: vocals
Al Finlayson: piano
John Cross: saxophone
