Savage Steel was a canadian thrash metal band formed in Mississauga in 1981 and split up in 1990. They released four demos and two full length albums, "Do or Die" was their second and last album, released in 1988.

After 3 demos released between 1984 and 1986, the band released it's great first album called "Begins with a Nightmare" in 1987 through New Renaissance Records and that helped them to get recognition in the underground thrash metal scene and not only in Canada.

Later that same year, their last demo "Killing Time" was released, and the next year, the last album was released.

Savage Steel was one of the earliest known Canadian speed/thrash metal acts alongside Voivod, Malhavoc, Sacrifice, Piledriver, Razor...

Their music is an interesting mixture of power, speed and thrash metal, "Do or Die" is probably their finest work, unfortunately the band split up two years later.
