Insight

Released February 7, 2025

Naya Ali goes deep on We Did The Damn Thing, her new album released on February 7th, 2025. The Montreal artist’s new opus is at once deeply introspective and a wide-eyed embrace of the world. Produced by longtime collaborators Adrian X and Kevin Figs, this sonically adventurous follow-up to her two-part debut Godspeed: Baptism (Prelude), released in 2020, and Godspeed: Elevated (2021) finds her stretching her wings lyrically, vocally and musically.

“We Did The Damn Thing is a celebration—not just of everything I’ve achieved, but of everything we’ve achieved together”, she explains. “As a people, as a community, as a culture, we’ve come so far. Our victories are collective, and the strides we’ve made are monumental.” This album honours that journey and its title says it all : “We Did The Damn Thing”.
