Liner notes
Across the Canadian plains to the mountains is a long way to go. To some, it is a flat, uninteresting thousand miles to drive. These people have never bothered to notice the subtle changes of the land from the rose-pink dawn to a glowing sunset. They don’t notice the gentle rolling hills, the grazing cattle and the farms dotting the vastness of the land. This is the land that Cal Cavendish sings about — the past, present and future of a great and changing land on this record “The Prairies Sing—Part 1”.
