Notes
Split 7-inch benefit single for CKDU-FM, a community/campus non-profit radio station in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The insert notes that CKDU-FM had been on air since February 1985 and depended on community support to operate. Its handwritten text encourages listeners to support local music scenes by attending shows, buying records, putting on shows, releasing records, and volunteering at radio stations. A jellyfish illustration is used as a metaphor for collective scene-building, comparing a music community to a colony of tiny organisms working together. Thanks are given to Sloan, Eric’s Trip, Cinnamon Toast Records, Sappy Records, Murderecords, and the buyer of the record.
No catalogue number is given on the release. The rear sleeve indicates Sloan is the B-side, but the record label, and likely the runout as with the black vinyl version, indicate Sloan is the A-side. Sloan’s recording was later released on the Geffen Rarities Vol. 1 compilation in 1994. Eric’s Trip’s recording was later released on the Cinnamon Toast Records compilation Trim Crusts If Desired in 1994. Both tracks were collected digitally on the murderecords 7" singles 1993 - 1998 compilation in 2016.
