Tim Hus wears the maple leaf on his heart. It resides within his soul and his shadow is that of a maple leaf. Stompin' Tom has officially passed the torch over to Tim Hus and he currently reigns as "Ultimate Canadiana Musical Storytellig Ambassador". Tim Hus (along with Corb Lund) is easily my favourite Canadian country and western musician. He is what music is all about. This his third (and best album in my opinion). The album is great, but you should hear him live. The song 'Hurtin' Albertan' is one of the top 1000 Canadian songs of all time.

Huskies & Husqvarnas is the third studio CD by country/roots songwriter Tim Hus. The album showcases some of Canada’s finest western musicians: Myran Szott on fiddle (Ian Tyson), Craig Korth on banjo, dobro, guitar (Jerusalem Ridge), and Charlie Hase on peddle steel (Gary Fjellgaard) as well as a guest vocal performance by CCMA and Juno award winning Corb Lund.
Tim Hus has a voice as sweet and angelic as a Husqvarna chainsaw and a list of songs longer than a Saskatchewan fence line! This album of outlaw roots music features 12 outstanding songs about bootleggers, buckin’ horses, bulldozers and everything embraced in the West.
From CB radio and truck driving songsabout hauling domestic beer on the Trans-Canada highway to working the mines of Flin Flon to the lonesome lure of the North and prohibition era rumrunning: Tim’s distinctive songwriting and spirited performances by the members of his dynamic band stand to make this album a cornerstone of authentic Canadiana!

Beer Hauler
Every region has it’s own preferred brand of “24 pint traveler”. On the West Coast it’s Lucky Lager. Pilsner on the Prairies. Kokanee in the West. Molson in Ontario. Labatt in Montreal and Keith’s in the Maritimes. Load ’em up and roll ’em... You don’t wanna be late when you’re jammin’ gears and haulin’ kegs!
Rumrunner
This is a 1920’s backroads, car chasin’, shoot ’em up, bootleggin’ bonanza song all about the prohibition era in the Southern BC/Alberta border country. The Rumrunners ran Buick whiskey sixes and the Alberta Provincial Police had model Fords. Step on it!

Hurtin’ Albertan
I wrote this with Corb Lund when we were on tour together. It’s all about the hardships of life when you’ve got oil money burnin’ a hole in your pocket. No matter which direction you’re comin’ from the roads always get better when you hit the Alberta line. That’s Corby on the CB radio.
Here’s some extra verses I came up with. I thought I’d include them here because it seems we missed Pilsner Beer and Longview Jerky on the first go ’round.
So Long Saskatchewan
Over the last couple of years I have often been asked to write a farming song. This might have turned out too contemporary...
Saddle Bronc Ride
Greenback horses are unbroke. They don’t like saddles. They like cowboys even less.
Pipeline
Here’s a romantic D-9 Caterpillar love song set in the oil patch muskeg... It’s partly about a woman and partly about a bulldozer. We still miss the bulldozer!
Great Plains Tour
A little story about the touring guitar picker. We were booked at a little hotel out on the plains and after our second set I asked the proprietor, “What kind of music do you usually have here?” He replied, “I’ve owned the place for seven years and you and Spider are the first to play here. I don’t know if the previous owner had entertainment.” We’ll be comin’ to a town near you. Even if you don’t live near a town.
Flin Flon
Hard rock mining Manitoba style! Hammer flying, air hose sucking, six-feet of mud and I’ve been a mucking...
Train Robbers
Another tale of gamblers, drinkers, and the Northwest Mounted Police in the days when they stacked the bison bones along the railroad tracks. Dig the olde west fiddle and hillbilly harmony on this one.
Canadian Cowboy
Many thanks for bein’ so supportive of our brand of Canadiana outlaw cowboy music. This is for all the yahoos who holler and stomp along on the Great Plains tour. See you on the road!
