Information/Write-up
It was a cold January night in Montague, Prince Edward Island. Justin and Betty MacNeill were having a party. Jim was there. Shirley was there. John was there. Pat was there. Montague was there. I was late. So was Allister and David. (They were with me so they had to be!) Two guitars, several harpoons, and a fiddle. Scottish and Irish folk songs.... some traditional.... some contemporary.... ghost stories.... Justin really knows how to bring in the New Year.
Real people are ny favourite kind of people. They communicate something to each and everyone of us that cannot be bought at any cost. That something is HONESTY.
I first met the CALAMITY BROTHERS a couple of paragraphs ago at a party. They are my kind of people. No put on.... no formality. That's the way it should be. That's the way it will always be. When any singer gets tired of singing, he'd better hang up his vocal chords.
Honesty, simplicity, and reality are beautiful concepts. They couldn't be better applied that to my friends Gene, Gerard, Danny, and Duff - the Calamity Brothers.
P.S. For best results this record must be played as often as possible.
