Seabirds Cry b/w Reunion

'Seabirds Cry' is one of John Gracie's earliest records, issued on Wizzard Records in 1986, two years after his first single, 'Sail On Nova Scotia'. Gracie wrote it about afternoons at the Glace Bay wharf with his father, a coal miner, watching the gulls and talking about life. Fred Lavery of Point Aconi, Cape Breton, produced the single and went on to produce Gracie's album Thinkin' 'Bout Midnight.

On the B-side Gracie sings Gene MacLellan's 'Reunion', nine years before he gave MacLellan a full tribute album. He recorded 'Seabirds Cry' again as the opening track of his 1997 album Nova Scotia Lullabye.
