Bridging the gap between past and present, Calgary's Mares of Thrace presents « The Interim »—a compendium of eras for the duo presently formed of Thérèse Lanz and Casey Rogers. The band's first incarnation featured drummer Stefani Mackichan alongside Lanz.
The album features the present line-up of Lanz on vocals and guitar, and Rogers on drums (who also contributes bass, vocals, and additional guitars, along with handling recording and production duties). This includes a brand new composition and leading single, « Parable of the Archer »—a slow-burner of noise rock tinted with doom and gloom. This is followed by covers of Widow’s Bane by Vienna’s Tarlung (from their album Architect), and the album includes an uncompromising, shape-shifting, and insane cover of Paula Abdul’s 1988 dance classic « Straight Up ». Yes, you've read that correctly.
The album also includes the original line-up of Lanz and Mackichan on drums, who started the band together. This features three songs recorded in 2013 that are more in line with their earlier styling of God City-style riffing and "mathy" twists and turns, reminiscent of the band's earlier work on their 2010 and 2012 albums, The Moulting and The Pilgrimage.

The cassette was exclusively available through Coup Sur Coup Records' Bandcamp page and at the Mares Of Thrace merchandise table.
