Castle Of Pain was a late-1990s Toronto metal project that brought together Rick Nemes and Psycopath from Infernäl Mäjesty, Michael J. Miller of Rapid Tears, and keyboardist Jill McMurray. Their only known release was the private 1999 promo CDr Dungeon Of Doom, a one-song recording that shifted into darker, slower territory than the members’ earlier bands, blending a heavy doom-metal foundation with sitar, layered guitar textures, and atmospheric keyboards. Though the project appears to have been short-lived, Dungeon Of Doom stands as an intriguing one-off from veterans of Toronto’s early metal underground, and the track also appeared on the Canadian Independent Box Set.
