Hybride, c’est une dualité : c’est le rappeur qui devient chanteur, c’est l’adolescent qui devient adulte, c’est l’amoureux qui veut aussi être l’amant. Ce deuxième album solo de Joe Rocca propose une rencontre entre R&B onirique, rap vaporeux, pop raffinée et funk de synthés.

Hybride, c’est aussi et surtout l’un des albums de rap les plus complets que le Québec ait mis au monde. Accompagné par Félix Petit à la réalisation (Les Louanges, Hubert Lenoir, etc) ainsi que par Jean-Michel Frédéric (Dominique Fils-Aimé, Loud, KNLO, etc) et Worry (Greg Beaudin, Yuki Dreams Again, etc.) à la production, le cofondateur de Dead Obies se dévoile comme un artiste complet, un rappeur artistique, un chanteur conceptuel, un jeune homme intelligent et sensuel.

Joe Rocca releases Hybride, his new album now available on vinyl and digital format!

On this second solo effort, the rapper and singer offers an amalgam of dreamy R&B, introspective rap, sophisticated pop and synth funk. Navigating effortlessly between rap and sung vocals, his wisdom shines through in the humility and authenticity of his lyrics, which deal with love, relationships and self-reflection. On Hybride - which features collaborations with KNLO, Rau-Ze, Dead Obies and Malia Laura - the young man, freshly into his thirties, demonstrates a rare musical maturity for his age and reveals himself as a complete artist, an artistic rapper and a conceptual singer.

Hybride is a duality: it’s the rapper turned singer, the teenager grown adult, the devoted partner who also wants to be a lover. Joe Rocca's second solo album brings together dreamy R&B, cloud rap, synth funk and sophisticated pop.

Most importantly, Hybride is one of the most versatile rap albums ever released in Quebec. Accompanied by producers and musicians Félix Petit (Les Louanges, Hubert Lenoir, etc.), Jean-Michel Frédéric (Dominique Fils-Aimé, Loud, KNLO, etc.) and Worry (Greg Beaudin, Yuki Dreams Again, etc.), the Dead Obies co-founder reveals himself as a complete artist, a sophisticated rapper, a conceptual singer, an intelligent and sensual young man.

This summer, Joe Rocca will be performing at a number of festivals in Quebec, including FestiVoix de Trois-Rivières, La Noce and Festival d'été de Québec. Other dates will be announced shortly, notably in Montreal. See the list below for more details.
