Insight

Independent Recording Artist, Butch Falk has been playing guitar and singing since his early teens. He started by learning from records of some of the best-known western musicians ever, these being "The Sons of the Pioneers" and the great "Marty Robbins".

Butch recently recorded the Western Music Association Song of the Year; Below the Kinney Rim written by Les Buffham and Michael Fleming. Mike's reaction is worth quoting.

"Excellent work, great voice. You really captured the flavor and spirit of both Stampede and Below the Kinney Rim. I will be proud to play your renditions for anyone!" Michael Fleming

"Got a call from Dave Bouchard. He heard Butch singin' "Below the Kinney Rim", on CFCW Edmonton and sez he's just gotta have that tape" Hugh McLennan

"Each week I really agonize over the music I fit into the Spirit of the West program. There are many tapes and CD's with two or three cuts that make it for air play but albums like this one, where every selection is more than up to standard, are much harder to find" Hugh McLennan - "Spirit of the West"
