Information/Write-up

Paul Clinch was a singer, songwriter, arranger, guitarist, drummer, and producer from Toronto, Ontario. Born in Birmingham, England he emigrated with his family to Canada while only six months old. Formed his first band The Canadian Delltones as a teenager in the early 1960s which changed names to The Magic Cycle in 1967 with the addition of his brother Kevin Barry. Later changed names again to Thecycle (a.k.a. The Cycle), all managed by his father Brendan Clinch. In 1968 formed production company Young Canadian Productions with Bill Armstrong (and additional help from Stan Klees) and in 1973 founded the band Choya. Founded the label Southside Records in the 1970s. Passed away November 8, 1988 at age 41.
