Liner notes
Guido D’Amico’s singing career started in the coal mining town of Nordegg, Alberta. At a very young age he learned how to strum a guitar while singing traditional Italian songs he learned from his parents and friends. Soon, he heard the late Jimmie Rodgers and immediately adopted Jimmie’s style of singing and yodelling. Consequently “Treasures Untold”, a Jimmie Rodgers song, is the featured song on this album.

Shortly after, Guido started to write his own songs and add English words to some popular traditional Italian songs which caught on very quickly across the country. He soon had his own weekly radio show on CKRD in Red Deer, Alberta.

Following this, he released several records on Aragon and Quality Records which were instrumental in giving Guido nationwide recognition. Soon, Guido was touring the province and also did some nationwide tours with Grand Ole Opry stars such as Hank Snow, Marty Robbins and the late Jimmie Reeves.

Guido’s music career ended abruptly when he purchased the Eckville Hotel in central Alberta. Today, we are happy to see Guido retired from hotel business and back into music. This album is the result of many of Guido’s fans, friends and relatives requesting records which have become very scarce in recent years.

So to all of Guido D’Amico’s many old fans, and hopefully many new ones, we hope you enjoy this album as much as we enjoyed making it.
