Information/Write-up
Here's a scarce one from Buddy Reynolds with the Calgary Range Riders. Rocky Mountain Rhythm has to be one of Buddy's liveliest tracks with Buddy singing that Rocky Mountain Rhythm, gets right in your hair, Rocky Mountain Rhythm everywhere while the Calgary Range Riders get you in a foot-stompin, square-dancin' mood. Freddy Lang contributes a fine fiddle tune on the B side. Note that 'Curly Hair' was included in a recent Canadian fiddle-accordion compilation CD/Book out of Newfoundland.
Also note that although Rocky Mountain Rhythm is available on the Calgary Range Riders Aragon LP, Buddy's vocal intro "As I strolled by a ballroom, I heard those violins play" was not kept as a part the LP issue of the tune, making this 78 the only place you get the entire performance.
This is a beauty - Aragon boss Al Reusch was a collector at heart and applied that passion to his Aragon releases, pressing up a few COLOURED VINYL copies of his 78 rpm releases to send to the radio stations. I've mostly seen red vinyl Aragons although there are a few green ones out there and, for the BC Lions, an orange vinyl pressing of 'Roar You Lions Roar'. Here is a scarce RED vinyl pressing of this already scarce Aragon disc.
