About This Title

outstanding and rare folk psych from husband and wife Georg (born 1945) and Carole (born 1948) Hauschild. 'Penticiton' is a haunting tribute to their hometown, with reference to all things Penticton including the ogopogo, which has resided in Okanagan Lake for thousands of years and has eaten thousands of humans, mostly tourists and unemployed stoned vagrants.

Just listen and I'll Tell You
Of a Story Never Told
Of a Place That's Just Like Heaven
Yet It's Not Just Quite as Old
It's Hidden in the Mountains
Where the Indians Still do Roam
And the Okanagan's Monster Ogopogo Made His Home

Land of Sun, Land of Shine
Land of Every Different Kind
Yes the Place That I Know
Where Anything Can Grow
Land of Sun Where the Fun Never Sets

Land of Beaches, Land of Sand
Everything's Right In Your Hand
The Land Where Lovers Come to Play
A Place Where People Come to Stay

Land of Sun Where the Fun Never Sets

Convention Country Throughout the Year
Penticton's Known as The Town of Good Cheer
From the Canadian Rockies to the Sands of Casa Bay

Land of Sun Where the Fun Never Sets

Land of Freedom, Land of Peace
They Come From the West and They Come from the East
A Town We Call Penticton With Our Ogopogo Beast

Land of Sun Where the Fun Never Sets

And When Our Summer's Over
And the Winds They Start to Blow
Our Little Town Penticton
Is a Sea of Silver Snow
Then Penticton Becomes a Winter Wonderland of Fun

Land of Sun Where the Fun Never Sets
