Brothers Paul and Fernand Blouin along with Richard Archambault formed Les Trois Clefs in 1948. They played mostly jazz in the cafe's and cabarets of Montreal. Together, they composed and pioneered one of the first Quebec rock 'n roll songs. "Le rock 'n roll du samedi soir", set to a swing and rhythm beat, was written in 1956 by Paul and Fernand Blouin, and was one of the first rock 'n roll compositions in Canada.
