Jim Hagan wrote the song "What's your hurry Fort McMurray? a couple of years after teaching at Peter Pond School, Fort McMurray. It was written in the early 70's and became very popular. When Fort McMurray had parades during the 70's there was usually one or more floats playing the song. There were also 127 dozen copies of a T-shirt which had the slogan "What's your hurry Fort McMurray" with an illustration of a variety of people running around an oil patch. Jim Hagan currently resides in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
