Information/Write-up

The Details are happy to present The Original Mark ep, their first collection of new songs since 2007's 'Draw a Distance. Draw a Border.' The Original Mark ep is centered on two tracks from the bands upcoming full length album, produced by Stephen Carroll (of The Weakerthans) and Brandon Reid (The National). The remaining three, as yet unreleased songs, were pulled from various sessions throughout The Details' history.

The disc's title track opens the affair. It's a song built around a snare brush shuffle and carried along by its simple melody and infectious chorus. The song comes crashing to a close in a climax of violins, piano and guitars. The quirky Uniform gives The Details best impression of Leonard Cohen and tells the story of a war veteran struggling to come to grips with his experiences. Just in time for the holidays, Strings and Ribbons, is a Christmas-themed song that has surfaced in numerous spots over the years but until now had not been given a proper release.

The Details are excited to get back on the road in support of The Original Mark ep. With tour plans in the works for this fall and spring, in addition to the festival appearances, you're sure to be able to catch The Details in a town near you very soon.
