Information/Write-up

Blues-rock good-times guitarist and vocalist David K. Wilcox (thanks for the clarification David K.) rips up 15 tracks of fun and goofy bar blues on Rockin' the Boogie: The Best of Blues and Boogie. A mix of his originals about booze, bars, and wimmin is augmented with a couple of Muddy Waters covers and a handful of traditional interpretations. Even when he's got the blues so bad ("Bad Feeling," "Preachin' the Blues") Wilcox still sounds like he's having a great time. While there is not a whole lot of depth on the record, it's still a solid collection of muscled-up blues riffs and phrases that sound fine on record and even better in a smoky bar.
