Liner notes / intro text
In the narrow stone coffin the RAINCREATURE felt its fangs with his fingers and they felt dangerously long and sharp as knife blades. It moved the heavy stone lid off of the coffin and slowly climbed out reaching for its shield and sword.
It was a Creature of the dark and the rain. A nocturnal beast, finely tuned and sharp witted.
The RAINCREATURE was enchanted with the world of rock music, the way the singers could scream of good or evil, proclaim themselves angels or devils and the crowd cheered. Sometimes they seemed the pure embodiment of madness. And yet it was technologically dazzling, the intricacy of their performance. It was barbaric and cerebral in a way that it did not think the world of ages past had ever seen.
The RAINCREATURE compiled its favourites that had played in the chamber that dark night.
…and it became a compilation…

Colour Clique
is mainly ambient/techno in feel. They started out working as “DRILL KKL” but soon found too many different styles to explore under the “Industrial” genre. They then began work on a hybrid, industrial dance/ambient cross-over with as much bottom end as they could get away with. Going back and forth between hard-core electronic dance and movie score music, the overall is a definite experience. COLOUR CLIQUE members are Lance Leeder (Guitar/Vocals/Bass), Max Arnason (Keyboards/Percussions/Drum Programming/Vocals). Thanks “Wrey”! Recorded by Rod Nattrass at Whipping Post Studio. Many thanks to Suzanne and Jessie.

DAED 21
is a fluctuating dark/gothic/techno and with romantic aspirations culled from the best “black attired” bands of the 80’s - Killing Joke, Joy Division, Wire, etc. The driving bass lines and synth guitar and textured chord counter points work their best on the lyrically aspiring title track and the A+ “Writings” on their vinyl E.P. “Police State Of Mind”. DAED 21 is David London (Lead Vocals/Synth/Guitar/Keyboards/Sequencing/Drums & Samples), Guest artists on DAED 21’s latest C.D., entitled “From Dark Culture to Darkest Subculture” include Jed Deluca (Lead Guitar on “December”), Michael Wylie (Lead Guitar on “Less Luminous Cold”), John Kwasnica (Funky Guitar and Backing Vocal on “Writings” and Lead Guitar on “Voice”). Both tracks on “RAINCREATURE” are taken from this C.D.

Dose Pump
Dose Pump’s solid rhythm section consists of percussionist G.G. Chandler, whose jazz and funk influenced playing style provides a perfect foil for bassist Yoda’s straight ahead approach. Complimenting this potent combination and playing with a rhymic chug and screeching whine that has been likened to that of a cat caught in a radiator fan, guitarists David D. Davis and “Chick Boots” Gatti create and exploit a fresh chunk of riffin’ raunchy rock’n’roll that serves as a fitting launch for the impassioned and provocative vocals of the always enigmatic Tempers Flare.

Roadrash
the band originates with Steve Vangelder in a series of guitar driven songs, written while touring the most prestigious street corners and metro stations of Europe. The experience led to the development of the industrial folk sound which became the foundation and attitude of the music. In collaboration with Aubrey Dana and his relentless guitar, an array of tunes were forged into a lean aggressive power-pop.

Swanyard
was formed in the late 1988 by Curtis Bereza (Vocalist for the band DRILL) and Christine Choquette. The two soon developed a very complimentary working relationship with Bereza handling most of the initial musical composition while Choquette developed the lyrical aspects of the songs. Their songs are definitely dance oriented and the band makes no pretence about the “pop” accessibility and the main objective of Swanyard’s compositions has been to create music which is both lyrically and musically stimulating and emotionally powerful.
