By: Jay Telfer
Origin: Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan - Toronto, Ontario, 🇨🇦
Former guitarist for Toronto band "A Passing Fancy", Jay Telfer left the band after that group's lone album to work as a solo performer and songwriter. "Life, Love & The Persuit Of Happiness (A Hippy Philosophy)" is equal in intensity to A Passing Fancy's trademark song "I'm Losing Tonight", with it's super high intensity fuzz guitar. The B side "Watch The Birdie" was inspired by a stage play Telfer had written and performed in around the Toronto area. Sir John A Label owner John Pozer had relocated to Toronto to work for Warner Brothers records-which gave him a chance to sign some acts outside of Ottawa. Telfer was his first-and ultimately his only, as Pozer became busy with his new job and Sir John A went dormant shorltly thereafter. Note: labels on the record were pressed on the reverse playing sides.
