Information/Write-up

Mega-Obscure Montreal '60s Girl Band! One of the rarest & best releases on the indie Canadian label Melbourne Records. This group fronted by Helen Duguay (Les Beatlettes, Les Guerrieres) and was managed by Ben Kaye (Les Classels, Les Miserables) and were alternatively known as Les Planettes who made two singles for the Vedette label, including a French version of "Soul Baby" as "Mon Ami Noir" (My Black Friend). This LP, which also features an answer song to "My Guy" called "From My Guy (From My Girl)" has some garage & pop sounds too, including a great version of "Do You Wanna Dance" sung by their French-Canadian singer in a halarious British accent! Fans of The Carrie Nations (Beyond The Valley Of The Dolls), Honey LTD, and Dara Puspita take note.

Hélène Duguay: bass
Margie Duplessis: lead guitar
Rosie Lang: organ
Linda Duncan: drums

Production: Ben Kaye and Doug Trineer
Engineer: Paul-Emile Mongeau
Cover & Design: Mike Levy
Supervision: George Taylor
