Information/Write-up

Joe Sealy wears many hats including those of pianist, composer, arranger, music director and actor. Born in Montréal, living in Toronto, he also has strong roots in Halifax.

Joe Sealy's Africville Suite was premiered at the 10th annual Du Maurier Downtown Toronto Jazz Festival on June 22nd. The musicians: Joe (piano), Paul Novotny (bass), Daniel Barnes (drums), Rob Piltch (guitar), Michael Stuart (tenor and alto saxophones), and Faith Chorale, a 30-member choir of singers from England, Jamaica, South America and Canada under the direction of Sharon Riley. Featured vocalists were Sharon Lee Williams and Dutch Robinson.
