'I Want Everything' was the second single from Stan Meissner's 1986 A&M album Windows To Light, following 'One Chance', which had been one of the most-added singles at Canadian radio that spring. Meissner wrote it with his longtime co-writer Fred Mollin and produced it himself at Wychwood, his home studio in Toronto. Rob Yale programmed the Fairlight and Peter Cardinali played bass, giving the track the glossy, synth-driven sound that set Windows To Light apart from the guitar-heavy Dangerous Games.
The B-side, 'Surrender To You', is a Meissner solo composition that runs over five minutes. It was left off Windows To Light and has never appeared on any of Meissner's albums, so this single is the only place to hear it.
