Liner notes
Here are songs of longing, of loved lost, of home and loved ones left behind. Fred McKenna sings these songs like he means them. They’re the story of his life — a life that keeps him moving from town to town and stage to stage.
Maybe you’ve seen Fred on one of those stages, or on television. If so, it’s because of your requests for songs like ‘Steel Rail Blues’, and ‘My Nova Scotia Home’, that this LP of Fred McKenna at his best became a reality. Fred may not stay in one town long enough to make many lasting acquaintances, but his ‘Singalong Jubilee’ and ‘Don Messer’s Jubilee’ appearances have brought him a host of friends and it’s to them that Fred dedicates this LP.
