Liner notes:
Eddie LeGere was born in 1930 in Joggins, Nova Scotia, overlooking the Bay of Fundy. The son of a coal miner, he worked the mines. After losing a relative in the big mine disaster, he wrote and now includes in his permanent repertoire the famous “The Spring Hill Mine Disaster”.
“My Home By The Sea” includes many Down-East songs with the same authentic ring as “Spring Hill”, From “Peg Leg Jack” to “Molly Bond” it is a collector’s item of material that has and continues to delight “Maritimers” in all countries
Eddie started singing at the age of 14, and has been featured on many big shows including the Main St. Jamboree of the CHCH-TV series, and on CKSO, Channel 5 in Sudbury, Ontario.
He writes and composes his own material and to date has penned over 80 songs. This is Eddie’s second Arc album. The first “A Bluenose Song Book” has become a touchstone for devotees of this wonderful folk material.
