A trippy bit of funk from Moe Koffman, recorded after his big "Swinging Shepherd" instrumental hit of the early 60s but a few years before his more experimental sessions of the 70s! The style here is mod hippie 60s flute jazz with Moe blowing in a soul jazz mode that's clearly influenced by the sound of Herbie Mann's hits, but backed by a set of arrangements that have a much groovier feel - lots of hard bass, heavy drums, and fuzzed-up guitars, plus a nice electric undercurrent that gives the set a strong Head Jazz sort of feel. Extremely groovy throughout and featuring the tracks "Curried Soul", "Sunshine Superman", "Cantelope Island", "Anteaters Song", and "Country Song".
Lenny Breau: guitar
Moe Koffman: flute, saxophone
